Welcome to my corner of the web! I’m Debra Gaines, a dedicated entrepreneur passionate about providing essential services that can make a difference in our community. I have a background in business management, customer service, cleaning, health, and safety. I've focused my efforts on two distinct businesses: Gaines Royal Transport (GRT), a NEMT Transportation Service, and Enso Enterprise, a Commercial Cleaning Service, both dedicated to providing exceptional care for people but focusing on our senior population. Keep reading to see how I got started.

One afternoon, I visited my mom and sister in a city different from my own. My sister and I were happily browsing through the aisles of Walmart when my mom called. She was drained and upset, having just finished a 4-hour round of dialysis. She asked me to come pick her up. She explained that she had been waiting for an hour and twenty minutes for the bus that usually picks her up. My sister and I left the basket of items in the corner of the store and proceeded to go get Momma! As we were on our way to pick her up, my mom called, letting me know that they had finally arrived. I was seven minutes away from her at that time. I offered to still come get her anyway, but she decided to take the bus since she was ready to get home to her bed. We later talked more about her experience. That’s when I learned that she is often faced with transportation issues. Waiting an hour or more for a ride to arrive after completing 4 hours of dialysis is way more draining than people realize. Especially after her blood has dropped too low or she has had a panic attack. I realized there was a transportation need since this always happened to her. I wondered how many other seniors were enduring the same struggles as my mom. Inspired by my mom's experience, I decided to explore what I could do to help those who may be facing the same struggles. This is how Gaines Royal Transport was created.

My brother started a cleaning service in 2016 called Charlies, and he brought me in on it. I lived in Austin, which was almost two hours from him. To pursue his dreams, he moved to Dallas, so we didn't work much on the cleaning. Unfortunately, my brother was killed by a drunk driver in April of 2017.

I also did a lot of volunteering with a local organization that took food to the elderly communities. While volunteering during one of the Christmas breaks, one of the sisters volunteering was bothered by one of the seniors' living conditions. She said one of the ladies handed the senior his food, and she gave the senior his gift. He told them that we didn’t have to give him a gift a hug would have been just fine. She said she hugged him and he went back into the house. After walking away she was moved to turn back around and knocked on his door to give him a more meaningful hug. She had most of us tearing up as she was telling us her story and her concern for his living conditions. At that moment, I thought well, I already have a commercial cleaning company. Why not dedicate time to cater to our senior population? We want to make sure we are taking care of them to the best of our abilities

I started thinking about an elderly lady that I did a notary for. She had a few cats, and she was 80% blind. Her mom had passed away a few years before and she still had all of her things. Her place really needed some help. She said I somehow made her feel comfortable. Through conversation, I told her that I had a cleaning service. She told me she wanted me to come and help her get her house together and she would arrange everything with her real estate agent.

While providing a NEMT ride to take a senior back to her home from her appointment, she learned through conversation, about Enso Enterprise Commercial Cleaning Service. She asked if I cleaned homes. I told her at the moment it is just commercial but I was looking into cleaning for seniors. She explained some of the things she would love my help with cleaning in her home. She explained how she is unable to move around and bend down anymore.

Every business often has a deeper purpose behind its inception, and these are no exception. My experiences and the challenges motivated me to take action and create solutions for others. I hope this glimpse into my journey has helped you understand not just my motivations, but also the heart of what it means to be an entrepreneur. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and these businesses. May you continue to be blessed, as you are a blessing!

Meet Debra!
